BACOLOD City – Eight persons were arrested here and in Negros Occidental in anti-illegal drug operations in the past five days, including a man who tried to sneak in illegal drugs in a COVID-19 isolation facility in Cadiz City.
Police records indicated that a 40-year-old male resident of Barangay Daga, Cadiz City was apprehended last Friday at St. Andrew Park Place II, Barangay Tinampaan, after a security guard confiscated from him a sachet of suspected shabu hidden in a loaf of bread during a search on essential goods to be delivered to a patient in the facility.
The search is a protocol at the facility to ensure the non-entry of prohibited items.
Also recovered were two crumpled aluminum foils, and a plastic bag containing four loaves of bread.
The suspect is detained at Cadiz City Police Station.
Aside from that, policemen also arrested five others in separate buy-bust operations and seized P11,560 worth of suspected shabu in the cities of Talisay, Kabankalan, and Bago from October 29 to November 1.
