BACOLOD City – Eight persons, including a toddler, suffered minor injuries after a truck crashed into a house at Sitio Sambag, Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Grande, city police chief, said the truck loaded with three passengers was on its way home when the vehicle’s brakes malfunctioned.
The 42-year-old truck driver swerved the vehicle and ended up hitting a house at the roadside.
Grande said that four members of the household, including a three-year-old girl and a senior citizen were at home when it happened. They are now okay, he added.
A portion of the house made of light materials was damaged in the accident.
“Ang balay sa kilid highway, tapos natabu-an na sang wala na siya (truck driver) control, didto na nag diretso ang salakyan,” he said.
He said the incident was referred to the barangay for amicable settlement.
