JAMINDAN, Capiz — Eight family members were hospitalized Wednesday morning, April 8, after allegedly eating tulingan fish in Barangay Jaena Sur, Jamindan, Capiz.
According to a Facebook post by Evelyn Marcelino Santiago-Bastian, her sister, Vanjelin Santiago, and her family experienced skin rashes, itching, fever-like symptoms, swelling, difficulty breathing and other related reactions.
She said her 8-month-old baby also experienced the same symptoms after eating tulingan paksiw.
The family was brought to Camp Peralta Station Hospital in Barangay Jaena Norte, Jamindan, for treatment.
Reports said the patients had received appropriate medical attention and that their conditions were being closely monitored.
The Capiz Provincial Health Office is investigating the tulingan fish after receiving reports that it was already spoiled and no longer fit for human consumption.
