Eight arrested in drug busts

BACOLOD City – Eight persons were arrested in seven anti-illegal drug operations here and in three areas in Negros Occidental from October 31 to November 3.

A total of P53,700 worth of suspected shabu was seized in the buy-bust operations, which led to the arrest of five persons here, while three others were collared in Bago City, and towns of Pontevedra and Calatrava.

Of the total amount, P45,500 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated here while P8,200 worth of the same contraband was recovered in the province.

Police Stations 1, 5, 8, and 10 conducted the operations at Barangays 21, Villamonte, Singcang-Airport, and Handumanan here, respectively.

Drug charges are being readied against the arrested suspects.
