BACOLOD City – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Northern Negros Occidental ordered the suspension of sea trips in three cities in Negros Occidental to and from Cebu yesterday due to Typhoon “Egay.”
In a travel advisory issued by Commander Joe Luviz Mercurio, head of the PCG-Northern Negros Occidental, trips of the Roll-on Roll-off (Roro) vessels from Tabuelan, Cebu via Escalante City and Sagay City, and vice-versa were suspended.
Trips from Daan Bantayan, Cebu via Cadiz City, and vice-versa were also suspended.
The PCG said that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 has been hoisted in the Visayas, based on the weather bulletin issued at 11 a.m. Monday, July 24.
The northern portion of Cebu (Daanbantayan, Medellin) including the Bantayan Islands and Camotes Islands were among the areas placed under TCWS No. 1, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
