As part of the growing movement for Earth Day with the theme “Planet vs. Plastics,” the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is urging the public to eliminate single-use plastics. In support of this initiative, PENRO Capiz conducted a soil bagging activity using “tampipi,” a locally sourced and handmade seedling bag made of buri (Corypha elata Roxb.) as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bags.
The activity took place in Brgy. San Antonio, Tapaz, Capiz, on April 22, 2024.
