An electric bicycle driver was arrested during a police anti-illegal drugs operation on the evening of May 27 in the City Proper district.
Frank Bronzal, 39, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation at his home on Muelle Loney Street. Members of the Iloilo City Police Office – City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU), together with Iloilo City Police Station 1, Maritime Police Station – Iloilo, and Coast Guard Intelligence Group Western Visayas, nabbed the suspect after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 11,000.
Upon frisking, Bronzal was found in possession of fifteen more sachets of suspected shabu and other non-drug items, including a notebook containing names of perceived clients and contacts.
The seized drugs weighed approximately 60 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 408,000.
CDEU operatives collared Bronzal following a monthlong surveillance operation.
Bronzal allegedly conducted meet-ups with clients in the downtown area and allowed transactions to take place at his home on several occasions.
Bronzal is now detained and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
