A suspected drug peddler and his alleged runner were arrested in a police anti-drug operation on the night of April 10 in Barangay Tacbuyan, Estancia, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspects as alias “Michael,” 42, of Barangay Tacbuyan, and alias “Julius,” 18, of Barangay Tabu-an.
The suspects were caught after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP7,000 to undercover operatives during a buy-bust operation.
Police from the Estancia Municipal Police Station also recovered seven more sachets of suspected shabu, a pouch, and several non-drug items.
The confiscated drugs weighed about 99 grams with an estimated street value of PHP673,200, according to authorities.
The operation was conducted following reports from residents about the suspects’ involvement in illegal drug activities.
Both suspects are now detained and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
