Two persons were arrested following a police anti-narcotics operation evening of Oct. 28 at Dumangas, Iloilo.
Police only identified the suspects as Rommel and Denise.
Members of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station, the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU) and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company (IPMFC) arrested the duo after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P16,500.
When the suspects were frisked, they yielded 100 grams of shabu valued at P680,000.
Rommel was the target of the drug buy-bust operation. He was once jailed and may have established his connection in the illegal drug trade while in prison.
Meanwhile, Denise was arrested after she was seen with Rommel during the drug operation.
The two suspects are now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
