Dueñas’ most wanted man arrested

ILOILO CITY — The most wanted person in Dueñas, Iloilo, was arrested shortly after midnight Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Alias “Jay,” 21, a resident of Dueñas, was arrested while driving his motorcycle along Poblacion D at around 1:20 a.m.
Members of the Dueñas Municipal Police Station, together with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Police Intelligence Team and Regional Intelligence Unit 6, intercepted the suspect after receiving information that he had been spotted in the area.
Police Capt. Isagani Tabares, Dueñas police chief, said the suspect offered no resistance when arrested.
Tabares added that the suspect apparently knew about the charges against him.
Jay, a ready-to-wear ambulant vendor, was arrested by virtue of a warrant for rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353, in relation to Republic Act 7610.
The Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo, issued the arrest warrant.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Tabares said the suspect was accused of raping his neighbor.
He did not elaborate further on the case.
Jay is now in the custody of the Dueñas Municipal Police Station and will be turned over to the court concerned.
