The Department of Trade and Industry Region VI formally welcomed Mutya D. Eusores as its new officer-in-charge regional director during a ceremonial turnover Monday, Jan. 12, at the regional office.
Eusores succeeded Ma. Dinda R. Tamayo, who retired from public service Jan. 4.
The transition was marked by the formal handover of the symbolic key of responsibility, signifying the assumption of leadership.
DTI Region VI, also known as DTI Western Visayas, oversees trade, industry and consumer protection programs in the region, including support services for micro, small and medium enterprises.
Eusores joined the department in 2005 and has built an extensive career in MSME development.
She served as the first regional coordinator of the Negosyo Centers and the Kapatid Mentor ME Program.
Before her designation as OIC regional director, Eusores served as OIC assistant regional director and earlier held provincial leadership posts in Antique and Guimaras.
Under her leadership, Eusores outlined five strategic priorities for Western Visayas in 2026.
These include strengthening digital consumer protection through the full deployment of systems such as the Philippine Online Dispute Resolution System and the Integrated Registration Information System.
Her priorities also include expanding inclusive access to entrepreneurship for women, youth, senior citizens and Indigenous peoples through Negosyo Centers.
She also aims to advance export development by promoting key industry clusters and Halal-certified MSMEs.
Her agenda further covers innovation and startup development, with a focus on the information technology-business process management sector and health care information management services.
Eusores also emphasized enhancing MSME resilience through business continuity planning and green economic strategies.
