On June 10, Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque and Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Secretary Frederick Go welcomed the launch of Green GSM Philippines as the country’s first fully foreign-owned electric vehicle operator.
This milestone marks the initial deployment of 2,500 electric vehicles, a key step toward the national goal of a 100% electric public transport system.
“Under President Marcos’ leadership, we are advancing sustainability and digitalization through the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ vision—fostering an environment where investors like Green GSM can thrive and uplift Filipino lives,” Roque said.
She added that this initiative is more than a business launch, as it offers cleaner air, more jobs, safer commuting and a real contribution to the country’s climate goals.
The launch highlights a vital public-private partnership for inclusive and sustainable growth.
It shows that when people, planet and innovation come together, the country advances as a greener, stronger and more future-ready nation.
