DTI Trains Iloilo SLP Beneficiaries in Marketing

Beneficiaries of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in Maasin, Iloilo are now better equipped to grow their micro-enterprises following targeted marketing training by the Department of Trade and Industry Iloilo Provincial Office (DTI IPO).
Held through the Negosyo Center Maasin, the initiative forms part of DTI’s mission to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and inclusive economic growth.
The training covered essential marketing strategies such as branding, product identity, pricing, and customer engagement tailored for small-scale businesses.
Other key areas included market positioning, online promotion using social media platforms, and using practical promotional tools to improve visibility.
Participants took part in real-world exercises that demonstrated how to attract and retain customers both online and offline.
DTI Iloilo emphasized that the program empowers entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and reach broader markets with increased competitiveness.

“This initiative provides our community entrepreneurs with the right knowledge and strategies to move their businesses forward,” said a DTI representative during the training.
The event is part of an ongoing collaboration between DTI and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which oversees the implementation of SLP.
The SLP is a program under the DSWD designed to help low-income households become self-sufficient through skills training and business support.
The DTI’s Negosyo Centers nationwide provide free services such as business advisory, registration assistance, and entrepreneurial training.
