The Department of Trade and Industry showcased premium Philippine food brands in Singapore as part of efforts to expand the global footprint of local exporters and connect them with international buyers, distributors, and investors.
The DTI, through the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre in Singapore and the Export Marketing Bureau, partnered with leading Philippine food brands to present artisanal chocolates, crispy kangkong chips, and specialty snacks during the Philippines’ 128th Independence Day reception in Singapore.
The event introduced Singaporean government ministers, foreign diplomats, and high-profile business leaders to a curated selection of Filipino flavors.
With support from the Philippine Embassy in Singapore and Philippine Airlines, PTIC-Singapore hosted a “Taste of the Philippines” pavilion at the National Day reception held at Pan Pacific Orchard Singapore.
The pavilion featured interactive product displays, sampling activities, and curated gift sets distributed to distinguished guests.
The exhibition highlighted products from five key Philippine exporters, combining traditional flavors with innovative snack formats.
Auro Chocolate showcased its award-winning single-origin chocolate bars in fusion flavors such as Dark Chocolate Mango Crunch, Calamansi Cheesecake, and Mocha Crunch.
Year Luck Food and Industrial Corp. featured Konitos mini wafer cones as part of the sweets and artisanal treats lineup.
Kangkong King presented its crispy kangkong chips, described as the world’s first commercially flavored water spinach snack.
Villa Socorro Farm showcased its Sabanana banana chips and Camote sweet potato chips made from three distinct varieties of Philippine sweet potatoes.
Regent Foods Corp. completed the product lineup with Belgian chocolate waffles, Big Mouth Corniks, and assorted sponge cakes in Ube and Pandan flavors.
The DTI said Regent’s Ube and Pandan sponge cakes have been rapidly gaining popularity in Singapore.
The diplomatic reception served as a strategic platform to raise the visibility of Philippine food exports among Singapore-based stakeholders.
To maximize engagement, PTIC-Singapore introduced a digital product catalog accessible through QR codes placed on exhibition tables, allowing attendees to connect directly with exporters.
Curated Philippine gift sets were presented to the evening’s guest of honor, Singaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan.
Gift sets were also given to Members of Parliament Vikram Nair and Yip Hon Weng.
The sets were distributed as well to members of the diplomatic corps and prominent business leaders, including representatives from the Singapore Manufacturing Federation and the Singapore Business Federation.
The initiative forms part of DTI’s continuing trade promotion efforts to help Philippine food exporters reach overseas markets and strengthen commercial links in Southeast Asia.
Singapore remains a strategic market for Philippine exporters because of its role as a regional business hub and gateway for distribution across Asia.
