The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo, in partnership with the Integrated Entrepreneurs of Iloilo Philippines, Inc. (IEIPI) and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Office of Iloilo Province, launched its second One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Hub on Thursday, December 26, at Casa Real, Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
The new hub offers local entrepreneurs, known as “OTOPreneurs,” a dedicated space to feature and market their products and services. This initiative follows the opening of the first OTOP PH Hub in December 2021 at Balai Ilonggo, Festive Walk Mall, Mandurriao.
“With this establishment, OTOPreneurs have another home to showcase and market their products and services that reflect local culture, community resources, and creativity,” DTI Iloilo said in a statement.
The agency added that the project would equip OTOPreneurs with the capacity to innovate and develop market-ready products and services.
DTI Iloilo Provincial Director Ma. Dinda R. Tamayo and IEIPI President Catherine V. Taleon led the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Key representatives from DTI-6, IEIPI, and the LEDIP Office attended the event, highlighting their collaborative efforts to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Iloilo.
The OTOP PH Hub program is a flagship initiative of DTI aimed at empowering MSMEs by providing retail spaces for high-quality, locally crafted goods.
This project aligns with Iloilo’s economic development strategy, which prioritizes entrepreneurship and promotes the province as a center of culture and creativity. It also advances Iloilo’s reputation as a fun, foodie, and friendly destination.
By expanding opportunities for OTOPreneurs, the new hub is expected to further establish Iloilo as a hub for unique local experiences and economic growth.
