The Department of Trade and Industry, through its Negosyo Center Caravan, continues to empower local communities by bringing essential services directly to barangays.
The latest stop was Barangay Nueva Union, where members of the Pineapple Growers Association took part in a session focused on advocacy, consultancy, and networking.
The initiative, conducted under the DTI-NC ACTSS (Advocacy Campaign Towards Strengthened Services to MSMEs in the Barangays), reflects the agency’s commitment to reaching underserved sectors of Passi City.
It offered entrepreneurs access to expert advice, awareness of government support programs, and opportunities to connect with fellow local business owners and DTI representatives.
Key sessions featured resource persons from DTI Iloilo.
Ma. Dorita D. Chavez, chief trade-industry development specialist, led a discussion on consumer advocacy, highlighting the importance of protecting both entrepreneurs and consumers.
Charlene Joy A. Adeja, trade-industry development analyst, shared details on various DTI programs and services designed to support micro, small and medium enterprises.
Schin T. Pamado, P3 coordinator, introduced loan assistance opportunities through the Small Business Corp., helping small business owners explore accessible financing options.
Aside from the presentations, participants consulted directly with DTI personnel on business-related concerns, strengthening local capacities through real-time support and mentoring.
The event was made possible through the collaboration of business counselors from DTI’s District 4 Negosyo Centers—Rosa Cabangal of NC Banate, Genipearl Paulino of NC Dumangas, Alyssa Margaux De La Rama of NC Barotac Nuevo, Crisian Rex Casiple of NC Dingle, James Carl Española of NC Dueñas, Winnie Grace Sugatan of NC San Enrique, and Charity Cabugnason of NC Passi City.
Through the Negosyo Center Caravan, DTI continues to make its presence felt where it matters most—on the ground, helping local entrepreneurs turn ideas into income and dreams into sustainable livelihoods.
