The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo held a one-day training in Pavia, Iloilo, to help local food processors improve product standardization and innovate trail mix offerings.
The training, titled Product Standardization: Flavors & Fusion – Trail Mix, brought together processors of dried fruits and nuts from across the province.
The session focused on teaching participants how to achieve consistent taste, texture, and quality in trail mix—a popular snack among health-conscious consumers.
“In today’s competitive food industry, consistency is key to building customer trust and brand identity,” said Ms. Lakambini T. Regalado, Trade-Industry Development Specialist and Unit Head for Business Development Division at DTI Iloilo.
“Standardization ensures that every pack delivers the same satisfaction,” she added.
DTI Iloilo emphasized the importance of developing signature blends and using local ingredients to boost product identity and marketability.
The activity also encouraged micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to explore new flavor combinations and develop more innovative and competitive products.
Through its hands-on approach, DTI Iloilo continues to support MSMEs in developing value-added products that meet consumer expectations and national quality standards.
