Reflecting the resilience and adaptability of entrepreneurs, the Department of Trade and Industry Iloilo, through its Negosyo Center in Passi City, held a seminar titled “Enhancing the Entrepreneurial Knowledge of MSMEs Through Consumer Advocacy and Financial Literacy 2025.”
The event brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, MSME owners and consumer advocates to promote informed business practices and sustainable growth.
The seminar aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge of DTI programs and services, product standardization and financing opportunities from the Small Business Corp.
Attendees included vendors and businesses under basic necessities and prime commodities, as well as those in the construction supply sector.
Serving as resource speakers were Ma. Dorita D. Chavez, chief trade and industry development specialist of DTI Iloilo’s Consumer Protection Unit; Rhea Jepee L. Legario, administrative officer II of DTI Iloilo; Crisian Rex P. Casiple, senior business counselor II of DTI Negosyo Center Dingle; and Wilfe B. Jimoga-on, P3 coordinator of the Small Business Corp.
They shared valuable insights on consumer rights, financial literacy and loan programs designed to support MSMEs.
DTI Passi City expressed appreciation to Mayor Atty. Stephen A. Palmares, CPA, for his message and support.
The efforts of John Arthur Palma, CPA, city enterprise department head I, were also instrumental in coordinating and mobilizing participants.
This initiative reaffirms DTI Passi City’s commitment to empowering MSMEs with the knowledge and tools to succeed.
