The Department of Trade and Industry Iloilo continues to strengthen support for micro, small, and medium enterprises in the food sector through targeted enterprise visits designed to identify opportunities for growth and development.
On March 13, 2026, DTI Iloilo Processed Food Focal Person Lakambini Regalado, a trade and industry development specialist, joined One Town, One Product focal person Flor Abian, a senior trade and industry development specialist, and Negosyo Center representatives Steff Robles, a trade and industry development analyst, and Tasha Mondia, a business counselor, in visiting food-sector MSMEs in San Joaquin, Miagao, and Tigbauan.
The visits assessed current business operations, identified gaps and challenges, and helped determine interventions that could further strengthen the enterprises.
The team explored possible training programs, market-linkage opportunities, production-facility upgrades, and access to innovation hubs that can support product development and improve competitiveness.
DTI said the visits form part of its broader effort to help local enterprises scale up, improve product quality, and expand market access.
The agency also underscored the role of the One Town, One Product program, which supports community-based enterprises by promoting products rooted in local culture, resources, creativity, and competitive advantage.
Through the initiative, DTI Iloilo reaffirmed its commitment to empowering local food enterprises and strengthening the support systems they need to grow.
With improved access to training, innovation, and market opportunities, food-sector MSMEs in Iloilo are better positioned to expand their reach and compete in both domestic and international markets.
