DTI, IIEE renew partnership to boost electrical standards

MANILA — The Department of Trade and Industry–Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) and the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) have signed a renewed memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance national electrical standards and strengthen industry expertise.

The agreement aims to support the growth of the electrical engineering sector and help build a future-ready electrical infrastructure for the Philippines.

This MOU builds on a previous partnership signed in 2017, expanding collaboration on technical discussions, training, and capacity-building initiatives for professionals in the field.

The renewed partnership also includes co-hosting local and international committee meetings, forums, conferences, and seminars to promote the advancement of Philippine National Standards (PNS).

As the country’s National Standards Body, DTI-BPS will continue to spearhead standardization efforts to ensure Philippine electrical systems align with global best practices.

Both parties emphasized their commitment to elevating the quality and safety of the electrical engineering industry and contributing to national development through a strong, standards-based approach.
