A total of 21 participants joined the two-day training, which aimed to equip them with the knowledge and skills to transform Guimaras’ world-renowned mangoes into innovative, value-added products.
Guided by food processing experts, the participants developed prototypes of mango pastillas, dried mangoes, mango toffee, and mango pickles.
Leah Danasco, the resource person, led a hands-on demonstration to help participants produce quality mango-based products.
The initiative seeks to create new income opportunities for local farmers while supporting the province’s mango industry through product diversification and entrepreneurship.
The training also highlighted the potential of agri-based enterprises to strengthen community resilience and promote inclusive growth.
