DTI Guimaras launches 1st online  Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay

“No pandemic can stop us.”

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-6 Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon emphasized this point as the DTI Guimaras Provincial Office launched the first online Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) via Zoom and FB Live on June 22, 2021.

NSB Online is the alternative mode of the usual face-to-face conduct of the activity as quarantine classifications prohibit mass gatherings. The DTI Guimaras thru its Negosyo Centers hold sessions to increase awareness on the services offered by the agency targeting MSMEs with business operations and potential entrepreneurs in the barangays.

Rascon further stressed that the Covid-19 pandemic has allowed the community to rediscover themselves and therefore make everyone rethink of the present situation and do better.

DTI Guimaras OIC-Provincial Director Ma. Dinda Tamayo rallied the team’s effort to render the DTI mantra of “Serbisyong Higit pa sa Inaasahan” and shared that the new recipe will be “we conquer, we persevere, we pivot” to overcome the present adversity.

The DTI Guimaras NSB Online team is composed of TIDS Romil Maro as NC Coordinator with Business Counsellors Rejoice Orquia, Marry Joy Gelanan, Ruth Penuela, Princez  Laurente in LGU-Jordan, Normel Galvan in LGU-Buenavista, Abigael Patnubay in LGU-Nueva Valencia, Jessa Tibajares in LGU-Sibunag and Judy Ann Gales in LGU-San Lorenzo. Other contributors included Joyce Gedalanga of SB Corp. Guimaras, Marimae Cartagena of DTI CARP and Rosemarie Gajete, DTI Monitor.

The launching underscored the DTI and Negosyo Center Programs and Services, Seminar on Entrepreneurship, Consumer Awareness, Rights and Responsibilities, Bayanihan Cares and CARP Services, among others.
