The Department of Trade and Industry Guimaras conducted the second run of BIZBOOST: Navigating Government Programs for MSMEs on March 13, 2026, at Rizal Barangay Hall in Jordan, Guimaras, with 77 potential and existing micro, small and medium enterprises in attendance.
The activity aimed to help entrepreneurs access government programs, comply with regulatory requirements and explore financing opportunities to strengthen and expand their businesses.
In her message, Nesgen Rhea Zerrudo, senior trade and industry development specialist of DTI Guimaras, said that with the support of partner agencies, MSMEs will continue to grow and contribute significantly to the economic development of Jordan.
Barangay Captain Allein Gando of Barangay Rizal welcomed the participating MSMEs and expressed appreciation to the partner agencies for bringing the activity to their community.
During the program, partner agencies presented their programs and services for MSMEs.
DTI discussed business name registration and the Barangay Micro Business Enterprise Program, which helps encourage the growth of small businesses through incentives and support.
The Business Permits and Licensing Office of the Jordan local government presented business permit and licensing procedures.
Representatives from the Bureau of Internal Revenue discussed tax compliance and requirements for MSMEs.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology shared information on digitalization and ICT tools for business operations, while the Department of Labor and Employment provided guidance on labor compliance and employee welfare.
Financing opportunities were also presented by the Land Bank of the Philippines, which discussed available loan programs for entrepreneurs, and by Small Business Corp., which introduced MSME loan assistance programs, including financing windows for eligible enterprises.
The activity also featured a question-and-answer session and one-on-one consultations, allowing MSMEs to clarify their concerns and receive guidance on their business operations.
The event also served as a venue to introduce upcoming programs and activities of DTI Guimaras.
In her closing message, Rejoice Orquia, trade and industry development specialist of DTI Guimaras, thanked the partner agencies and the local government unit of Jordan for their support.
She encouraged MSMEs to maximize available government programs and highlighted DTI’s continued commitment to assisting entrepreneurs as they grow their businesses.
DTI Guimaras also extended its appreciation to the participating agencies and the Municipality of Jordan for their support and collaboration.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment, together with its partners, to continuously serve MSMEs and strengthen their role in the economic growth and development of Guimaras province.
