The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Aklan Provincial Office has thrown its support behind the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kalibo’s annual Kalibo Kabuhian Para sa Kababayen-an Trade Fair Year 4.
The women-focused trade fair is being held at Citymall Kalibo in Poblacion, Kalibo, Aklan, from December 1 to 9, 2025.
DTI-Aklan said 29 women-led enterprises are taking part in this year’s edition, which is now on its fourth year.
Organizers said the participating businesses showcase the artistry, creativity, and resilience of women entrepreneurs through a range of products.
The exhibits feature proudly made piña items, fashion accessories, home essentials, and various food offerings.
DTI-Aklan Provincial Director Romel L. Amihan expressed the office’s support for LGU Kalibo’s initiatives during the opening program on December 1.
Amihan particularly cited the event’s advocacy of promoting a safe space for women in the business sector to display their products and services.
He said the fair also aims to strengthen community efforts toward empowering women entrepreneurs.
The trade fair forms part of the local observance of the nationwide 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, which is marked every November.
DTI-Aklan said the celebration recognizes women’s contributions to society and supports continuing efforts to raise awareness and prevent gender-based violence.
The provincial office said the activity aligns with DTI’s broader mandate to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises, especially those led by women, through market access and promotion.
