BACOLOD City – Department of Social Welfare and Development head Pacita Tero said they have started distributing food packs to indigent families and informal sectors who were affected by the imposition of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine amid spiraling cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 here.
Tero told Daily Guardian that they have prepared more than 40,000 food packs.
The DSWD added that they have started distributing the food packs since Sept 10, 2020.
Tero said Mayor Evelio Leonardia has directed them to prioritize the transport sector and the numbered barangays first.
Under the MECQ, the transport sector is directly affected because public transportation is suspended.
