Residents of Antique now have easier access to government aid and welfare programs as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI opened a new satellite office in Poblacion, Culasi.
The office was inaugurated on Aug. 16 by DSWD Field Office VI officials, including OIC-Regional Director Joselito G. Estember, OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Katherine Joy M. Lamprea, and Antique SWAD Team Leader Darlene Abagat. It will officially start operations on Monday, Aug. 18.
The new facility will serve as a one-stop hub for key DSWD programs such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), and Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).
It is expected to cater not only to Culasi but also to nearby municipalities and adjacent provinces.
“This is us opening our doors to faster and easier access to services, and strong partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) for the people of Antique,” Estember said during the inauguration.
Local officials also attended the event and expressed support for the new office.
A memorandum of agreement was also signed between DSWD and partner LGUs to strengthen cooperation in delivering social welfare programs.
The office will be staffed by DSWD’s “Angels in Red Vests,” who will attend to clients on-site.
