DSWD-6: No truth to death of newly-vaxxed 4Ps beneficiary

The Department of Social Welfare and Development 6 (DSWD-6) has clarified reports about the alleged death of a Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary after getting vaccinated.

This is fake news, the DSWD-6 said in a statement Thursday evening.

Ma. Evelyn Macapobre, DSWD-6 regional director, said there’s no truth to an incident that allegedly happened in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

“This fake news also claims that because of the death of the wife, the husband killed several medical practitioners. We would like to set the record clear. No 4Ps beneficiary has died after being vaccinated and none of such killings has happened. This has already been verified by the PNP,” the statement added.

The DSWD-6 has also advised the public to stop circulating this fake news through text messages or social media accounts.

“This will only create panic and fear in other persons especially to our 4Ps beneficiaries who are planning to be vaccinated,” Macapobre said.

The agency also reminded 4Ps beneficiaries of the conditions for the availment of cash grants.

The conditions remain unchanged, Macapobre said.

These include 85 percent attendance of school-age children per school month; preventive health services such as immunization; pre and post-natal check-ups; and attendance to monthly Family Development Session (FDS).

“Together, let us work in ensuring that everyone gets vaccinated for ourselves, our families, our community, and our country. DSWD remains steadfast in its commitment to serve with Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo, by providing the right and accurate information to the public,” Macapobre said.
