BACOLOD City – An alleged drunken woman died after her house was razed by fire in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental late Tuesday night.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Kabankalan, identified the victim as Maulin Amblosa, 70.
According to the initial investigation of the BFP, the victim came home drunk that night.
Based on the statement of her neighbors, the victim oftentimes used an improvised lamp and place it from one place to another, the BFP said.
However, the BFP could not yet tell if the lamp was indeed the cause of the fire, as the case is still under investigation.
The victim’s remains were found near the door, according to the BFP. They believed that the victim probably tried to leave her burning house which was made of light materials.
