BACOLOD City – A man killed his uncle after he was scolded by the latter during their drinking session in Barangay Baga-as, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Gregorio Gumawa, who passed away at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here around 4 a.m. yesterday.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Necerato Sabando Jr., town police chief, said the victim scolded his nephew identified as 30-year-old Jonel Sombo due to his unruly behavior.
“Makulit na kasi,” he added.
Sabando said that Gumawa then sent his nephew home. But, the latter returned with a bolo.
Both figured into a heated altercation until the suspect hacked the victim several times.
“Dahil siguro nakainom na din,” Sabando said.
The victim succumbed to multiple hack wounds while the suspect was immediately arrested by the patrolling police, according to Sabando.
“Baka siguro may previous na sila na tampuhan,” Sabando said.
Sabando said the case is considered solved since the suspect was arrested and a case for murder or homicide is to be filed.
