A drunk man was arrested after he allegedly fired his gun following a confrontation with his younger sister in Tigbauan, Iloilo evening of September 1, 2021.
Police identified the suspect as Arnel Trasadas, 36, of Barangay Baguingin, Tigbauan, Iloilo.
Aside from alarm and scandal, Trasadas is also facing a case for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Reports said that the suspect’s sister Aileen Mae Trasadas, 33, an OFW residing at Barangay Barroc, Tigbauan, Iloilo visited her siblings in Baguingin village.
While Aileen was drinking liquor, Arnel arrived, and a heated argument ensued.
He allegedly fired his break-type shotgun in the air. This prompted Aileen to ask for police assistance.
Captain Roy Castro, Tigbauan police chief, said that police later caught up with him at his house. He was still carrying his firearm.
A fired cartridge case and three live ammunitions were seized from his possession.
The suspect is now detained for proper disposition of his case.
