BACOLOD City – A drunk man died after he slipped and drowned in a water well at Purok Riles, Barangay Salvacion Murcia, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as Jeepney Diamon, 54, of the said village.
Police Captain Jerald Muya, town police chief, said the victim was walking home from a drinking session with his friend when the incident happened.
The victim’s family searched for him after he failed to go home that night.
The next day, residents, who were fetching water, found him inside the well.
Muya said they ruled out foul play behind the death of the victim, claiming it was an accident.
“Pagdag-dag niya, nalumos siya,” the police chief said.
