BACOLOD City – Another alleged drug suspect was killed by unidentified armed men last Saturday, barely two weeks after a drug personality was also gunned down at Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last month.
The recent victim of the killing was Mariano Encabo, 47, of Barangay Paraiso.
Initial investigation indicated that the victim was riding a motorcycle when he was allegedly shot by the assailants.
A gunshot was heard by personnel of a nearby funeral parlor, prompting him to check the area, where he discovered the victim already lying on the ground with blood.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he expired few minutes later.
Police recovered from the scene an empty shell of .45-caliber ammunition.
According to a report from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), the victim was previously arrested for a drug offense and was released after he availed plea bargaining.
Last November 26, alleged drug personality Joemar Pendaliday, 36, a native of Cotabato City, and was temporarily residing at the said village, was also killed by unidentified armed men on a motorcycle.
