Drug Suspect Nabbed With PHP680,000 in Shabu

BACOLOD CITY – Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a 24-year-old unemployed man in a buy-bust operation that allegedly yielded PHP680,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay 10 here early Monday.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Tata,” a resident of the barangay, was on the watchlist of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council, according to Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU chief.

Legada said the suspect allegedly began selling illegal drugs last year.

He was arrested after reportedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police operative during the operation at 1:16 a.m.

Police classified him as a high-value individual following the confiscation of 100 grams of suspected shabu.

The seized substance will undergo laboratory examination.

The Bacolod City Police Office urged the public to report any suspicious activities in their communities as it continues its intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
