ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A drug surrenderer was named as the suspect who stabbed a 37-year-old lady online seller and her two minor daughters last week at Barangay Timpas, Panitan, Capiz.
The Panitan Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Karl David Diestro, 24, a tricycle driver and resident of Barangay Agkilo of said town.
Police Staff Sergeant Francisco Mario Balasa said Diestro was identified by a certain Jasmine.
On March 17, 2022, Sharon Cortez Duron and her two minor daughters, who are all residents of Pasig City, Metro Manila but temporarily residing at Brgy. Timpas, Panitan, were sleeping when the 16-year-old daughter woke up when she noticed an unidentified man enter the house.
The minor immediately approached the man and held his neck while her mother and her sister also woke up.
The three ladies tried to restrain the intruder, but the suspect drew a knife and stabbed them.
The suspect hurriedly left by destroying the window jalousie of the house
The three victims were taken by neighbors to Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra town and later transferred to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) here for treatment
Police said the incident could be a case of botched robbery.
