ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Some P130,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs were recovered from a drug surrenderer and a barangay tanod in a drug bust operation Friday afternoon here.
Levi Yandoc, 28, and Nelvin Ofabial, 30, both residents of Brgy. Cagay here were arrested by the Station Drug Enforcement Team, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit at Barangay Dayao here.
Recovered from the suspects were three sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000 marked money, motorcycle, pouch, and a cellphone.
According to Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, spokesperson of the Roxas City PNP, Yandoc was arrested before for illegal drug trade but he was released after a plea-bargaining agreement.
Obafial, on the other hand, is an active member of Barangay Peacekeeping in Brgy. Cagay.
The two suspects were detained at the police station while charges for violations of RA9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 will be filed against them.
