ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A drug surrenderer and a former barangay kagawad were arrested Wednesday afternoon in a drug buy bust operations in Brgy. San Jose here.
The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Capiz Police Provincial Office(CPPO) collared Benny Teodosio, 52, and former kagawad Nelson Calipayan, 49, both residents of Sitio Proper in Brgy. San Jose.
Recovered from Teodosio were five sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of P27,200, and the P5,400 marked money.
Calipayan denied he was into the drug trade, but he admitted to using drugs. He said he was at Teodosio’s house to get something.
Police Major Francisco Paguia, PDEU chief, said Teodosio was a former drug surrenderer and stopped peddling drugs for a while until they learned that he resumed his alleged illegal activity.
Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) will be filed against the two who are presently detained at the Roxas City police station.
