ROXAS CITY, Capiz A drug surrenderee was gunned down evening of Jan 6, 2019 at Brgy. Rosario in Pilar town.
Rio Adrigado, 27, died at Jose Colmenares District Hospital in Balasan, Iloilo due to gunshot wounds on his chest.
Police investigation indicated that the victim was talking with his neighbors around 7:15 pm by the roadside when the two suspects on a motorcycle arrived and shot him.
Police later collared the suspect in a hot pursuit operation after the shooting.
July Bataanon, 44, married; and Abner Bacanto Jr., 29, both residents of Sitio Bat-os, Brgy. San Ramon also in Pilar town were arrested at around 12:30 a.m. of Jan 7.
The two were positively identified by the witnesses and are presently detained at the lock up cells of Pilar police station.
Adrigado was a former drug surrenderee of Pilar. He was arrested in June 2014 in a drug buy-bust operation by Pilar police and the PNP regional office along with Leo Bañez, 34; Jennifer Bedeo, 28; and Rayvan Fuentes, 30, all of Brgy. Santo Rosario, Pilar.
