A suspected drug pusher was arrested with around P408,000 worth of shabu and an unlicensed firearm during a police operation in Molo, Iloilo City early morning of July 2.
Police identified the suspect as Sanny Aragonis, 40, a resident of Zone 6, Barangay Calumpang, Molo.
Aragonis was temporarily staying at Barangay North San Jose, Molo, Iloilo City where he was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Members of the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU) and Iloilo City Police Station 4 nabbed the suspect after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P11,000.
When later frisked, police seized from Aragonis 13 more sachets of suspected shabu, a caliber .38 revolver, and several non-drug items.
Captain Roque Gimeno III, ICPO-CDEU team leader, said this is the first time that the suspect was arrested.
He was placed under monitoring after previously arrested drug peddlers squealed that he was into the illegal drug trade.
He mainly sourced his supply from a resident of Barangay Bakhaw but also got some from Jose Alvin Palomar.
Palomar was also arrested in a buy-bust operation at a motel on June 15. He yielded more than P1.2 million worth of shabu.
Gimeno said most of the suspect’s clients are call center agents in Molo district.
It was assumed that he was planning to sell his caliber .38 pistol to add up to his drug funds.
An informant claimed that he sold a caliber .45 pistol to start up his shabu trade.
Aragonis is now detained and will be charged for Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
