BACOLOD City – An alleged member of a drug group in Negros Occidental was busted with 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000 in Barangay 6, Kabankalan City on Friday, Feb. 24.
The subject was identified as Rennel Dayuday, 26, of Barangay 6, a butcher. He is an alleged high-value individual, according to the police.
Major Jerald Muya, chief of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), said Dayuday was allegedly caught repacking the illegal drugs during the operation.
The suspect was subjected to monitoring for about two weeks.
Muya said the suspect and some of his clients would utilize a vacant house to allegedly hold a “pot session” there.
Muya said that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confirmed the link of Dayuday with a drug group as they conducted the joint operation against him. “Isa siya (Dayuday) sa mga galamay sang grupo,” he added.
Muya said the source of the illegal drugs is subject to investigation.
He also said that the suspect previously surrendered to the authorities through Oplan Tokhang.
However, Dayuday failed to undergo the Community-based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) after he did not submit himself to a drug test, the PDEU chief added.
