A rescue operation was conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection–Buenavista, in coordination with personnel from the Buenavista Municipal Police Station and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Buenavista, Guimaras.
At around 4:28 p.m. on the same day, Leogen Lopez y Castor, alias “Dagol,” was the first to be retrieved and was immediately brought to McLain Emergency Hospital.
At 4:36 p.m., Leomer Lopez y Castor, alias “Bogoy,” was also retrieved and transported to the same hospital.
However, both victims were declared dead due to drowning by attending physician Dr. Hazel Delos Reyes at 4:40 p.m. and 4:46 p.m., respectively.
The bodies of the victims are now at the morgue of McLain Emergency Hospital.
