A boy who drowned on Oct 17, 2022 was found on his 10th birthday.
Alias Ric’s body was fished out by a fisherman at Barangay Hinactacan, La Paz, Iloilo City around 6:30 a.m. on Oct 19.
Captain Eduardo Siacon, Iloilo City Police Station 3 chief, said the area is more than a kilometer away from Barangay Cubay, Jaro where he drowned.
Ric’s body was caught among the mangroves in the area.
Members of the Philippine Coast Guard immediately responded to the area.
Ric’s family arrived shortly later and confirmed the boy’s identity.
It can be noted that search and rescue operations have been relentlessly pursued to locate Ric who got drowned at Salog River in Barangay Cubay around 2 p.m. on Monday.
The boy was playing with other children and was piggyback riding on another boy when someone pushed the latter.
The two lost their balance until Ric was submerged in water. His playmates just saw him wagging his arms until he disappeared.
As this developed, Siacon said he called Ric’s family and the boy who pushed him for counseling.
