A dried fish vendor was arrested after he allegedly sold illegal drugs on the side.
Richard Fariñas, 32, a resident of Barangay Alegre, Oton, Iloilo, was collared in a buy-bust operation 12:05 pm of July 22, 2020 at Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, Oton.
Officers of the Oton Police Station, Iloilo Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Regional DEU arrested Fariñas after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P1,000.
Recovered from Fariñas’ possession were 16 sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000 cash, and a canister.
Police Captain Jason Pancha, Oton police chief, said that the suspect is a newly identified drug personality.
They recently received information about his alleged illegal drug trade in the area.
Pancha said they would verify reports if Fariñas had been arrested in Pampanga for a drug-related offense.
The suspect is now detained and will be charged for coalition of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
