BACOLOD CITY — The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region has been given a total of 279 personnel slots for this year’s recruitment cycle as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen manpower and improve the delivery of public safety services across the region.
Of the total allocation, 111 positions are under the regular recruitment quota, while 168 slots are allotted for attrition recruitment, which aims to replace personnel who have left the service due to retirement, resignation, or other reasons.
The regional office announced Saturday that the acceptance of applications for the regular quota will run from March 20 to March 30, to be handled by the Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit, based on the approved recruitment schedule of the Philippine National Police.
During this period, qualified applicants may submit their documentary requirements for initial evaluation and processing.
For the attrition recruitment, the distribution of quotas to provincial directors, city directors, and chiefs of police will take place from March 20 to 23, followed by the convening of the Recruitment Screening Committee on March 24.
From March 25 to 27, police offices concerned will post recruitment notices in city and municipal halls and other public places to inform the community about available opportunities.
The activation of the Ad Hoc Screening Body by the respective mayors is scheduled for March 30 to ensure transparency and adherence to recruitment procedures.
The Ad Hoc Screening Body is a civilian-led panel convened at the local government level to help ensure that the police recruitment process remains transparent, community-based, and free from undue internal influence.
The acceptance of applications for the attrition quota will be conducted from March 31 to April 23.
Applicants may submit their documents through police chiefs, city police stations, or provincial police offices, where they will undergo the required screening and evaluation by the designated Ad Hoc Screening Body.
The PRO-NIR encouraged interested applicants to begin preparing their documents and ensure they meet the qualifications set by the PNP recruitment system, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to a transparent, merit-based, and equal opportunity recruitment process.
The PRO-NIR covers Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
