Probably the “voice of Dota 2”, prominent caster TobiWan said he is leaving the esports scene after allegations of sexual assault and harassment surfaced online.
The International (TI) tournament staple announced through Twitter that he will no longer render his services with the esports community and closed his statement by emphasizing that he is “not guilty of any criminal offense.”
A cosplayer named Meruna first accused TobiWan of sexual harassment, saying that the Dota 2 commentator “could not take no for an answer and initiated sexual activity against her clear and repeated wishes.”
Aside from Meruna’s revelation, a Youtube streamer named Ashnichrist also claimed receiving sexual harassment from TobiWan. Ashnichrist posted a screenshot of messages from TobiWan saying, “So when are you coming to chill at my hotel? Pub crawl a man tonight. This sexual harassment brought to you by Dota casting.”
Following Meruna and Ashnichrist is another artist with the name botjira who accused TobiWan of pinning her down in a hotel room.
Toby “TobiWan” Dawson responded to the allegations in a statement posted on Twitter saying that he is leaving the esports broadcast scene permanently while emphasizing that he was “not guilty of any criminal offense.”
