The Department of Labor and Employment-Negros Island Region released grants under its Adjustment Measures Program to three micro, small, and medium enterprises in Negros Occidental to help protect livelihoods and support business recovery.
The beneficiaries are the Association of Negros Producers in Bacolod City, Fishtank Catering Services in Sipalay City, and Ruben Seedling Farm in Valladolid.
DOLE-NIR said the grants are intended to help the enterprises recover from recent challenges, improve business operations, and adapt to changing market conditions.
The Association of Negros Producers received PHP 257,000 to support capacity-building initiatives, business enhancement, and the adoption of digital marketing strategies.
The assistance will help ANP expand its market reach beyond traditional channels as more businesses shift to online platforms.
By strengthening its online presence, ANP is expected to connect with a broader customer base, promote local products more effectively, and create new opportunities for its member-producers.
DOLE-NIR said the transition to digital marketing is a key step in sustaining growth and competitiveness in an increasingly digital economy.
Fishtank Catering Services received PHP 400,000 to support product development and innovation, as well as business enhancement and adaptation measures.
The grant will allow the Sipalay City-based enterprise to diversify its offerings and develop new products that can generate income during off-peak seasons.
DOLE-NIR said the support is expected to help the business manage demand fluctuations common in food and catering services, particularly during lean months.
The expansion is also expected to strengthen the enterprise’s financial standing, help retain workers, and maintain operations throughout the year.
Ruben Seedling Farm was awarded PHP 386,422 to support product development, innovation, and capacity-building efforts.
The assistance comes after the Valladolid farm faced setbacks from typhoons that affected its production and resources.
Through the grant, the farm is expected to rehabilitate and improve operations by introducing more resilient planting materials, enhancing production techniques, and building the skills of its workforce.
DOLE-NIR said the interventions will help the farm recover from past damage while preparing it to better withstand future climate-related challenges.
Strengthening the farm’s production capacity is also expected to help ensure a steady supply of seedlings to local farmers and contribute to agricultural stability in the area.
The Adjustment Measures Program grants are designed to provide immediate relief while supporting long-term business sustainability.
By investing in innovation, capacity-building, and market expansion, DOLE-NIR said the program helps MSMEs remain resilient amid economic and environmental challenges.
The release of assistance highlights the role of MSMEs in local economic growth and employment.
Through targeted support such as the Adjustment Measures Program, DOLE-NIR said it continues to empower small enterprises to recover, adapt, and thrive while contributing to community development.
