Amidst the growing concern over counterfeit endorsements online, the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development has issued a warning to the public.
Following the discovery of several commercial products, including dietary supplements and milk brands, falsely claiming DOH endorsement, the department released a statement highlighting the serious nature of these fabrications, noting that all such endorsements are completely false, misleading, and unauthorized.
“The Department does not engage in the promotion or endorsement of specific brands or commercial products,” the DOH said.
The DOH expressed concern about the potential health risks that misinformation poses and urged the public to verify the authenticity of endorsements.
The Department also warned that it will not tolerate the continued circulation of false endorsements and that “criminal charges may be pressed if related posts persist.”
To promote the dissemination of accurate health information, the DOH encourages the public to remain vigilant and to consult reliable sources, including the Department’s verified social media accounts and official website, for any health-related promotions.
