ROXAS City – The Roxas City Government has received from the Department of Health Center for Health Development Western Visayas Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that will be used by personnel who will run the Roxas City Molecular Laboratory.
The PPEs include 500 sets of Sterile Protective Suit/Surgical Gown, Medical Overboot/Shoe Cover Pair, KN95 Mask, Medical Gloves, Protective Gown/Overall Gown, Head Cover, Surgical Masks and Face shields.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said the donation from DOH CHD-WV under Dr. Marlyn Convocar is one of the needed resources in responding to the COVID-19 crisis in the city.
“Ini nga mga medical supplies PPE’s amon guid guinapasalamatan kay ini makabulig agud maproteksyunan ang aton mga medical frontliners partikular na ang mga magadumala sa RT PCR Laboratory samtang sila nagatrabaho sa tion nga magsugod ang aton operasyon,” Dadivas added.
Apart from the DOH donation, the city also received on Sept 10, 2020 separate PPE sets and masks form the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV).
OPAV Assistant Secretary Anthony Gerard “Jonji” Gonzales and DOH Region 7 Chief Pathologist Dr. Mary Jean Loreche also visited the city’s COVID-19 testing laboratory and quarantine facility. They also imparted the best practices to weather the pandemic.
