Novak Djokovic boosted his chances of a 25th Grand Slam golden trophy after demolishing British ace Daniel Evans- 6.3, 6.2, 6.0- in the ongoing Wimbledon tournament on July 3, 2025.
Too crafty and equipped with the tricks of the trade on the grass surface he dominated seven times, Djokovic capped off the win with his most dominant performance after receiving a scare from Alexandre Muller in the first round.
Djokovic showcased a serving clinic in front of his hopeful supporters after wrapping up the sweeping win with 11 service aces, one of his best serving outings in his Wimbledon career.
Once he got his rhythm to hold all his service possessions in the opening set, Djokovic just entered an unconscious state and bullied his British foe with a barrage of baseline winners.
Evans tried to do something creative in the second set when he returned Djokovic’s top-spin serves with a deep slice in the middle, but the more experienced Serbian shrugged off any adjustments by staying at the net, anticipating the second return to be a lob.
Djokovic looked like a mind reader the whole game, as most of his ball predictions were just on-point, countering Evans’ strategies with quick and decisive answers.
Midway through the second, Evans came close to breaking Djokovic’s service in the fifth game set, but a momentum-saving 3-0 run sealed the frame and moved the Serbian to another game point for a 2-0 lead.
It was in the third and final set where Djokovic completely sucked the life out of Evans, pinning him in all areas of the court and limited his scoring options.
Evans only scored five times in the first 13 set exchanges, and officially crashed out when Djokovic managed to break his first three service possessions.
The aspiring British player could only just watch Djojokic stamp another masterclass, firing four more down-the-line winners to secure the second-round victory.
Awaiting Djokovic in the third round at London is Miomir Kecmanovic, who scored a reverse sweep over Jesper De Jong after going down early, 0-1.
