THE Department of Interior and Local Government, in collaboration with the Iloilo Economic Development Foundation and Global Shapers Iloilo will hold a Business Matching and Investment Forum on October 22, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City.
The forum will help connect LGUs to start up application developers and service providers in order to get the information they by improving and digitizing the Single unified business application system; Automated and electronic systems and Zero-contact policy, among other provisions of Republic Act 11032.
Invited to the forum and business matching session are 133 local governments in Western Visayas and the startups and companies innovating in the fields of e-governance and enabling business climate improvement (Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Delivery Act of 2018) with LGUs.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has been working on streamlining business processes for quite some time and it is noteworthy that the percentage of compliance can still be improved.
The 100% adherence from the LGUs is being pushed. Based on records provided by the DILG’s Bureau of Local Government Development, only 59.37% or 900 LGUs are compliant to the revised standards in processing business permits and licenses, one of the salient parts of RA 11032.
The forum will also feature speakers from Singapore and the US to share best practices on Smart City Solutions and how the government can enable small business development.
