Newly-acquired guard from the TNT Katropa, Mike DiGregorio said that their current Alaska roster can bring back the winning seasons of the prized organization.
The Aces last nabbed a PBA title in 2013 only to be followed by heartbreaking losses including early playoff exits and upsets in the following years.
However, DiGregorio, one of the most reliable scorers in the PBA, said that this is the perfect time to prove the doubters and haters wrong.
“I can’t say it enough. It’s beyond motivating. You see those trophies, you want to be part of that, too. You want to be a champion and add to that legacy. It’s something that I know the whole team is pushing for and really striving for. It’s a motivating factor everyday,” said DiGregorio.
DiGregorio feels they have a great group of guys and is confident in their title hopes once the season resumes.
The Aces was able to acquire the services of Robert Herndon and Rodney Brondial as an exchange for Chris Banchero.
Apart from the Brondial-Herndon landing, Alaska also signed Maverick Ahanmisi during free agency, one of the emerging guards in the PBA and a former member of Gilas Pilipinas.
“We could do it now. I truly believe that. If I didn’t believe that in my heart, I wouldn’t say that. I really believe that we can do it now. If we take care of business on a daily basis, we hold ourselves accountable and we do what we are supposed to do, I think we have the talent to do it,” closed DiGregorio.
